About Artist:
Hossein Mahjoubi, dubbed the "painter of paradise," captures the essence of his birthplace, Gilan, through vivid visual poetry. Renowned for his imaginative landscapes, Mahjoubi infuses his paintings with the memory of his homeland, reflecting his deep love for nature, which he has translated into the design of parks and green spaces.
Beginning his artistic journey as a teenager, Mahjoubi pursued formal education in fine arts and architecture at Tehran University of Art. His talent quickly gained recognition, earning him accolades such as the first prize in the Iran-US Association's group exhibition. With over 90 solo exhibitions and participation in numerous group exhibitions worldwide, Mahjoubi's artistic prowess extends beyond canvas to landscape design, where his vision has shaped notable spaces like Saei Park and the green areas of Azadi Stadium. Awarded the Hans Christian Andersen International Prize in 1978 and honored with a street named after him in Tehran in 2020, Mahjoubi's legacy as a mystical artist deeply connected to nature continues to enchant viewers, with his paintings evoking a romantic and imaginative ambiance that celebrates the sanctity of the earth.
